The Three Blind Mice

The confirmation of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense should have been a slam dunk with the Republican party holding a 53-member majority in the Senate. Sadly, the Republicans can’t seem to get out of their own way and conduct business with their goal being to benefit America and her citizens. Too often, members in both the House and Senate, vote to please their donors, and line their pockets, with little regard as to the consequences of their selfish decisions.

Apart from the “lockstep” Democrats, who voted unanimously against Mr. Hegseth’s confirmation, there were three RINOs who also voted “No” to the Secretary of Defense nominee’s appointment. Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins voted with the Democrats, forcing a tie-breaking vote from Vice President J.D. Vance to confirm our new Secretary of Defense.

Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski cited problems with Mr. Hegseth’s character and also his lack of experience as justification for voting against his confirmation. It has been asserted that Mitch McConnell cited his utter disdain for Donald Trump as his reason for rejecting the president’s SecDef choice. One has to wonder what their true motivations for this failure were.

Lloyd Austin, who preceded Pete Hegseth as our nation’s defense secretary, has a storied military history according to the research I conducted. The main theme of his career prominently features the following: “…becoming the first African-American…”. During his tenure as our nation’s defense secretary, our military has failed every pentagon audit, failed to attain recruitment goals until this most recent year, and been more concerned with pronouns, punctuation and penises, rather than a lethal military fighting force capable of defending our nation and our allies.

Mitch, Lisa, and Susan all voted to affirm Lloyd Austin as Secretary of Defense during the Biden administration. They had no problem siding with democrats, along with all but two Republicans who voted no, in confirming Austin for the cabinet position. In fact, some percentage of Republicans voted to confirm every one of Biden’s nominees. It seems they are truly “stuck on stupid”!

It is my hope that every RINO will face challengers in the upcoming primaries and never make it to the general election for the next Congress. I plan on voting to impose term limits on the RINO Cornyn in the upcoming ’26 election so he can start his new career at MSNBC.

Republicans need to understand that this truly is a war for our nation and the Democrats will never voluntarily change their position of utter contempt and hatred of America. The Republican party should NEVER vote for anything the Democrats propose until such time as the Democrat party expels the radical, socialist element from their ranks and begin to champion policy that places America first.

Citing only three might have been a mistake on my part. There are numerous blind mice in this current Republican party. Hopefully, their eyes will be opened to the corrupt Democrat party or they will be replaced with individuals who have a clear vision for the future of our republic.

…more to come.
