Republicans, and conservatives in general, believe that the left is just like them but with a different ideology. They think that a reasoned argument will enlighten the liberal minded and cause them to rethink their position on issues affecting our country. As much as I wish this were true, experience and the left’s own rhetoric prove that they are not merely misguided but truly hate this nation and all it stands for.
The left wishes to remake America in the image of other communist countries and have overtly made this their stated goal. Call them communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, etc. but their vision for these united States is clearly not that of our nation’s founders. Far from being a Republic, the left is on a quest to fundamentally change America into a socialist nation with no regard of the historical record of failed communist countries.
Don’t take my word for it, on May 14, 2oo8 as her husband was seeking the Democratic nomination for the presidency, Michelle Obama stated, “We are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.” and just five days from the 2008 election, Barrack Obama spoke to a crowd in Columbia, MO. and told them, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”
In 2016, Bernie Sanders, an avowed Socialist, won 46 percent of the delegates during the Democratic primaries. Sanders is an Independent that caucuses with the Democrats and doesn’t hide his disdain for our country or its capitalist system. He truly wishes to overturn it and nearly half of the Democrats voted for him, over Hillary Clinton, as their nominee for president.
At the 2016 Democratic National Convention during his speech, Sanders told the crowd, “Together, my friends, we have begun a political revolution to transform America and that revolution – our revolution – continues”… Of course, history shows that the democrats cheated Bernie out of the nomination, but that is another story and only shows that the left will lie, cheat, swindle and steal to win!
Biden has made one of his slogans, “Build Back Better” which requires demolishing what is there in order to do that. No problem as far as Joe is concerned, he hates everything but himself and will use anything, including dead family members, a drug addled son peddling influence to hostile foreign governments, lies, plagiarisms, breaking the law, repeatedly, to enrich the Biden family on a lifelong public servant salary.
To counter this destruction of our nation, the right has taken the position of accommodation, communication and appeasement. Thinking that the most intelligent argument is the winning argument, they attempt to win the hearts and minds of the left with no understanding of the utter contempt the left harbors against them. I am reminded of our failed attempts in the conflicts in Vietnam, South America, Iraq, Libia, and Afghanistan where we made the mistake of thinking that, given the choice, all people would wish to emulate America’s freedom.
Throughout history, thousands of missionaries have been slaughtered in a vain attempt to bring enlightenment to deprived, and often depraved, people. The right will have to come to the understanding that there are those who only wish to resent, hate, blame, and destroy those who have attained success in life. Rush Limbaugh aptly stated, “I think the attitude needs to be: We need to defeat Liberals, defeat them, defeat them. Not accommodate them. Not try to persuade them. If they come along of their own volition, fine. We accept them. But they are the epitome of bigotry and prejudice”.
I have often explained to acquaintances in the midst of a divorce and wanting to be fair that the soon to be ex-spouse is the enemy, pure and simple. Their job is to be ruthless and make every effort to acquire everything in the settlement. There is time, when the dust settles, to be gracious and generous if that is what you choose to do, but make sure it is on terms that have been set by you and not someone else.
The left will only include you if your diversity conforms to their belief system. The right has to understand this is war and make sure they are determined to win at all cost. This country will cease to exist as a republic if the right continues to insist on assuming the missionary position.
